Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the ‘Madhya Pradesh@2047: Vision Document’ serves as a comprehensive roadmap to make the state economically strong, culturally enriched, and to elevate citizens’ quality of life to the highest standards.
He announced that the Vision Document aims to transform Madhya Pradesh into a $2.5 trillion economy by the year 2047, while setting ambitious goals such as raising per capita income to ₹22 lakh, increasing average life expectancy to 84 years, and achieving 100% literacy. The strategy focuses on transforming Madhya Pradesh from an agriculture-driven economy to a balanced model integrating agriculture, industry, and services, making it self-reliant and globally competitive. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’, this document envisions a prosperous, progressive, and culturally rooted Madhya Pradesh.
A Vision Shaped by Public Participation
The ‘Samruddh Madhya Pradesh@2047’ Vision Document is the result of the largest public participation process in the state’s history, involving over four lakh citizens, including farmers, students, entrepreneurs, experts, and social organizations. Inputs were collected through public consultations, essay competitions, industry dialogues, academic sessions, and on-ground inspections, making it a unique initiative in India.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain described the document as “not just a government plan, but a reflection of the people’s aspirations and the collective vision of the state.”
Four Guiding Pillars of the Vision
- Economic Growth Focus: Accelerating the state’s economy, generating employment, and attracting large-scale investments.
- Regional and Local Integration: Creating region-specific strategies that align with Madhya Pradesh’s diverse geographic, social, and economic profile.
- Contribution to ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’: Making Madhya Pradesh a key partner in India’s national growth journey.
- Inclusive and Participatory Approach: Involving citizens, experts, industries, and administration to ensure collective ownership of development goals.
These principles make the Vision Document balanced, comprehensive, and pragmatic, turning it into a living commitment to the future of Madhya Pradesh.
Six Strategic Development Pillars
The roadmap identifies six major focus areas to build a developed Madhya Pradesh:
- Next-generation agriculture and allied sectors
- Sustainable industrial progress
- Expansion of the service sector
- Urban and rural infrastructure development
- World-class education and skill development
- Quality healthcare and nutrition services
Additionally, two key enablers — efficient governance and citizen service delivery, and innovative financial management with investment promotion — have been incorporated to strengthen implementation.
2025 Declared as the ‘Year of Industry and Employment’
In a decisive move toward self-reliance, the state government has declared 2025 as the ‘Year of Industry and Employment’. This initiative focuses on boosting youth employment, attracting industrial investment, and promoting startups, skill training, and technical education to drive sustainable growth.
Blending Tradition with Modernity
CM Dr. Yadav emphasized that true development extends beyond economic growth — it includes nurturing the spiritual and cultural essence of society. He said, “Madhya Pradesh, with its glorious heritage, rich traditions, and the life-giving Narmada, will continue to guide India’s path of cultural and developmental progress.”
A Collective Call for a Prosperous Madhya Pradesh
Calling upon citizens, youth, entrepreneurs, and social organizations, Dr. Yadav urged everyone to adopt this Vision Document as a public movement. “This document marks the first decisive step toward securing a brighter future for coming generations. With collective effort, we will build a self-reliant, prosperous, and globally leading Madhya Pradesh by 2047.”
