
Indore, November 3, 2025:
In a significant step toward improving postal infrastructure and financial inclusion, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat and Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria jointly inaugurated several newly renovated sub-post offices across the Sanwer region on Monday. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Indore Postal Region’s Postmaster General Mrs. Preeti Agrawal, who was present as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Silawat said that the sub-post offices have been modernized and upgraded with improved facilities to ensure better postal services for the people of Sanwer. He emphasized that this initiative will help enhance communication and access to various government-linked financial schemes in rural areas.
Minister Bhuria, in her address, urged the citizens of Sanwer to make the most of the various facilities offered by India Post, especially savings, insurance, and women-focused schemes.
During the event, Postmaster General Mrs. Preeti Agrawal announced that Sanwer Tehsil will soon be declared a “Complete Sukanya Tehsil”, under which every household will have at least one savings account and one Postal Life Insurance policy. She also highlighted the government’s continuous efforts to expand the reach of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, a flagship savings scheme for the girl child.
As part of the ceremony, passbooks for Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts were distributed to eleven young girls by Minister Bhuria. Additionally, five villages were declared as ‘Complete Sukanya Villages’, and their respective sarpanches and branch postmasters were felicitated for their contribution to promoting savings and financial awareness.
In a touching gesture, a claim benefit of ₹2 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana was handed over to Mr. Vinod of Jindakheda Post Office, village Hariyakhedi, Sanwer, the nominee of late beneficiary Mrs. Kavita Bai.
The ministers also inaugurated sub-post offices at Fatehabad Chandrawatigunj, Shipra, Nipania, Khudel, and Kanadia, along with Sanwer.
The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of local residents, postal staff, and officials, marking another milestone in the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen rural communication, financial literacy, and women empowerment in Madhya Pradesh.
