Madhya Pradesh Surges in Stubble Burning Cases, Edges Closer to Punjab
Bhopal: Stubble burning incidents are rising sharply in Madhya Pradesh, pushing the state to the second spot nationally after Punjab. On 11 November alone, 1,052 cases were reported, taking the total to 3,569 incidents since 15 September. Authorities have begun taking action against offenders.
Crisis Revealed Through Satellite DataThe alarming figures were highlighted by the CREAMS (Consortium for Research on Agroecosystem Monitoring and Modeling from Space) report, commissioned by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. The report shows that on 11 November, MP recorded the highest number of stubble burning incidents in the country on a single day.
